Boks sweating on Etzebeth injury

The Springboks are sweating over the fitness of talisman Eben Etzebeth after the lock twisted an ankle during a training session at the Springbok camp in Cape Town this week.

Etzebeth was sent for an MRI scan, which revealed a low-grade ligament injury, but he should be available for the match against Ireland on 11 November.

The Springboks follow up the Ireland clash with Tests against France (November 18), Italy (November 25) and Wales (December 2).

Etzebeth has thrived as stand-in captain for the Boks in the absence of regular captain Warren Whiteley who has been injured since mid-June.
