Toulon have announced that England and former Worcester Warriors centre Ben Te’o has joined them on a short-term contract until November.

The New Zealand-born centre, who has 18 England caps and also played in two Tests for the British and Irish Lions against the All Blacks in 2017, will join the Top 14 outfit as Rugby World Cup cover.

“The English international will come and reinforce the Red and Blacks’ ranks until November 2019,” Toulon’s statement said.

The 32-year-old was left out of England head coach Eddie Jones’ squad for the global showpiece after a reported altercation with full-back Mike Brown during a training camp in Italy in July.

Te’o’s last Test appearance was in England’s 38-38 draw with Scotland during the Six Nations in March.
