Barry faces hearing over Tait tackle

Harlequins centre De Wet Barry is to appear at a Rugby Football Union disciplinary hearing on Monday, following his sending off in the game against Newcastle on Saturday.

Barry was dismissed with a straight red card after being perceived to have made a dangerous tackle on his opposite number Mathew Tait, during Quins' 15-9 Guinness Premiership win over the Falcons at The Stoop.

Also appearing at the hearing – brought forward by 24 hours – are Lawrence Dallaglio (London Wasps) and Seru Rabeni (Leicester Tigers).

Dallaglio has been cited for a breach of Law 10.4(a) in the EDF Energy Cup semi-final against Leicester Tigers on Saturday, March 22.

Fijian centre Rabeni was cited for a breach of Law 10.4(k) in the Premiership match against Saracens on Saturday, March 15.

The cases will be heard by a disciplinary panel chaired by His Honour Judge Jeff Blackett at the London Bloomsbury Holiday Inn.
