Scotland flanker John Barclay will miss out on his side's tour of South Africa due to a shoulder injury.

Scotland flanker John Barclay will miss out on his side's tour of South Africa due to a shoulder injury.

The 26-year-old Scarlets-bound player will undergo surgery on his shoulder later this week.

“At this juncture, Barclay will not be replaced in the party, which is now 30 strong,” Scottish Rugby said in a statement.

Scotland will play the Springboks, Samoa and Italy on their to trip to South Africa.
