Pumas freshen up for another shot at Springboks
Argentina head coach Mario Ledesma has made several changes to his starting team that will face South Africa in the Rugby Championship on Saturday.
There are six alterations in personnel to the side that ran out for their 32-12 defeat to the Springboks at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium last weekend.
As well as those changes, there are also positional tweaks as the Pumas look to respond strongly after a disappointing performance in Port Elizabeth.
Debut for Ignacio Mendy
In the backline, there are starts for Juan Cruz Mallía at full-back, Ignacio Mendy on the wing and half-back duo Domingo Miotti and Gonzalo Bertranou.
Mendy will make his international bow for Argentina while there’s another potential new cap on the bench as Lucio Cinti gets the nod this Saturday.
The front-row is retained for the game but there is a brand new lock combination as Matías Alemanno and Tomás Lavanini partner in the engine room.
Elsewhere, Guido Petti moves back to the flank alongside Pablo Matera and Rodrigo Bruni with the other shift seeing Santiago Carreras on the wing.
