Injury sidelines James Haskell and Mike Haywood

Northampton Saints are set to be without flanker James Haskell for up to 10 weeks after he underwent surgery on an ankle injury.

He will require a 6-10 week rehabilitation period, revealed the club, who return to Premiership action against Wasps at home this Saturday.

“We are disappointed to lose James, but we know he will rehab diligently and do everything he can to get back on the training field as soon as possible,” said director of rugby Chris Boyd.

The Saints have also lost Mike Haywood to injury, with the hooker possibly set to miss the remainder of the season with a knee problem.

Northampton are ninth in the Premiership standings after winning two and losing four of their opening six fixtures.
