Allen Clarke relieved to avoid Kings banana skin

Ospreys interim coach Allen Clarke was relieved to see his side eventually see off the Southern Kings 26-12 at Liberty Stadium on Friday.

The Kings had themselves to be blame as it was their poor discipline that allowed the home side back in to the game after having taken the lead through tries from Michael Makase and Michael Willemse. 

However, two penalty tries both from Kings' indiscretions at the scrum and a late Jeff Hassler score handed the Welsh region the bonus point as the Kings still seek their first PRO14 victory.

Clarke said at the post-match press conference: "Obviously I'm relieved. It's important that we got that tonight. We didn't capitalise on the territory and possession we had in the first half and it looked as if it was going to be one of those nights.

"All credit to the Kings for the energy and physicality they showed and effort, but in particular credit to our boys because they nailed it at the end showing us where we are and the potential we have as a group."
