Nine penalties from fly-half Luciano Orquera were enough to take Aironi to a 27-13 Pro12 win over Teviso on Friday.

Orquera scored all 27 points in a perfect kicking performance which saw Aironi garner just their second RaboDirect Pro12 win this season.

Willem de Waal responded with two penalties and Treviso scored a penalty try, but it was ultimately their ill-discipline and Aironi's pressure that was their undoing.

In the end, Mauro Bergamasco's much anticipated debut only lasted the final nine minutes due to the superb performance of his team-mates.

Treviso had been impressive so far this year. Having endured a promising debut season, they have built suitably, emerging victorious in five of their last seven encounters before this game.

Although they have struggled to score tries, despite their 50-24 mauling of the Newport Gwent Dragons two months ago, a potential play-off place isn't out of the question.

By contrast, their Italian cousins have struggled, winning just one match this campaign. But they got off to a good start here through a penalty from Orquera.

De Waal responded for the visitors with one of his own before the hosts' stand-off converted his second attempt.

Treviso levelled through de Waal after Andrea Masi was sin-binned, but three further Orquera penalties saw Aironi lead 15-6 at the break.

The second period continued in the same vein with the boot dominating proceedings, and the home side's stand-off added successive three pointers.

Another Orquera penalty extended the advantage to 18 points before Marco Bortolami was yellow carded for Aironi and Treviso took advantage as they were awarded a penalty try.

But Orquera deservedly completed the win.
