The Bulls second choice scrum-half was given a rare chance to run on in the side's starting XV on Saturday after Fourie du Preez suffered a hand injury.

Adams received a hard knock on his tibia in the 13th minute of the match but luckily he did not fracture his leg.

Team doctor Tommie Smook said on Monday that the damage is at the exact spot where Adams fractured his tibia in 2007 but this time it is only a soft tissue injury.

“Heini will in all probability be back on the field in a week or so and we will monitor his rehabilitation throughout the week,” he said on the Bulls website.

The Bulls have a bye this weekend and the players will get a well-deserved break after ten weeks of intense pressure in the Super 14.

Except for Adams there are no other injuries in the camp and the team will be at full strength when they meet again in a week's time.
