Fly-half: Owen Williams

Leicester have recalled Dan Bowden, Owen Williams and Adam Thompstone to their backline for their last fixture of 2013, against Sale Sharks on Saturday.

Mathew Tait is retained at full-back against his former club after returning from injury last week.

International front-rowers Marcos Ayerza, Tom Youngs and Dan Cole are back in the starting line-up. Louis Deacon captains the side in the absence of the injured Toby Flood and is joined in the second-row by Ed Slater.

Thomas Waldrom, who made his 100th appearance for the club in the defeat at Saracens last Saturday, is included in the back-row.

Sale meanwhile are without Danny Cipriani for the trip to Welford Road so Nick Macleod wears number ten, alongside scrum-half Dwayne Peel.

Making his debut in the game will be Tongan number eight Viliami Fahiki who joined the club last month.

Mark Cueto moves to the centre to cover for the injured Mark Jennings and Charlie Ingall is recalled on the right wing after an impressive game at Saracens in November.

Form: Leicester Tigers record defeat in Aviva Premiership Rugby at Saracens on Saturday ended a six game winning streak in all competitions. The last time a visiting side from north of Leicester has won a game at Welford Road was when Sale themselves did so in the Premiership on 23rd February 2008. Sale Sharks have recorded back to back victories at home to Oyonnax in the European Challenge Cup and London Irish in the Premiership, whilst the Sharks only victory away from home in the tournament since February was 22-16 at Gloucester on 7th September. The Tigers have won their last seven fixtures with Sale since the Sharks were victorious 15-12 at Edgeley Park on 4th September 2009.
