Ashton Hewitt's 71st-minute try sealed a 20-8 win for Newport Gwent Dragons over visiting Aviva Premiership side London Wasps.

Rhys Jones, who was a late replacement for full-back Hallam Amos, kicked two conversions and two penalties.

Jones opened the scoring in the second minute with a three-pointer before Wasps' Joe Carlisle responded for Dai Young's team.

Neil Cochrane's try in the 27th minute put Wasps ahead 8-6 for the only time in the match, but it didn't last long as Matthew Pewtner crossed for the Dragons before Hewitt finished things off late on.

Gloucester saw off the threat of Dean Richards' Newcastle Falcons thanks to two tries in either half from their backs.

Full-back Rob Cook opened the scoring with a try in the eighth minute with England fly-half Freddie Burns converting.

Rory Clegg scored the Falcons' only points with a penalty shortly afterwards, but from then on Newcastle were left to watch Gloucester tick the scoreboard over.
