Matt Scott 2012

Starts: Matt Scott

Edinburgh head coach Alan Solomons has made four changes to his side, spread equally between the forwards and backs, that will take on Munster.

Centre Matt Scott will make his first competitive start of the season, having recovered from the ankle injury he sustained during the off-season.

He will begin the match alongside Nick De Luca, who missed last week's chance to reinstate their partnership because of a shoulder injury.

Up front Grant Gilchrist comes into the second-row in place of the injured Izak van der Westhuizen (shoulder), and newly signed South African, Cornell Du Preez, makes his first start in the back-row in place of Tomas Leonardi.

"It was invaluable for Matt [Scott] to get game time last weekend, especially as Ben [Atiga] has just been ruled out for a month," said Solomons.

"He [Matt] hasn't started a match since Scotland's summer tour, and still needs to play more matches to get fully up to speed after his injury.

"However he and Nick [De Luca] have played together for a long time so should fit back together well.

"We're probably in the best place we've been from a personnel perspective, so it's incumbent on those taking to the field to carry on our efforts to see continuous improvements from every game."

Meanwhile, Munster's most notable absentee from their line-up is captain Peter O'Mahony.

O'Mahony has been integrated back in to training this week following on from his half-time replacement appearance against Leinster last Saturday but is going to be carefully eased back into action.

Paul O'Connell will subsequently captain the side when they run out in Murrayfield on Saturday.

With O'Mahony ruled out there is one change to the pack that defeated Leinster last weekend with Paddy Butler coming into the squad and making his first Heineken Cup start this Saturday, as he joins Niall Ronan and James Coughlan in the back-row.

There is one change to the back-line also with Conor Murray moving into the starting XV with Duncan Williams named in the replacements.
