Yoann Huget scored a hat-trick as Toulouse romped to a 28-10 victory over arch-rivals Stade Français in Saturday's late Top 14 game at Stade Ernest Wallon.

Toulouse outscored the Parisians four tries to one bag a bonus point and draw level with Toulon and Montpellier at the summit of the Top 14 table.

The home side were sublime on attack in the first half as French international Huget and former All Black Hosea Gear touched down to give Toulouse a 14-3 lead at the interval.

Huget scored again soon after the restart and although young Stade Français fly-half Jules Plisson pulled a try back for the visitors on the counter-attack after the break, Toulouse were not to be denied.

Huget completed an impressive display with his third try after 65 minutes as Toulouse sent a message out to their European rivals a week ahead of the first round of the Heineken Cup.

Stade Français, who started the season top of the standings drop to fourth, one point off the pace.
