Jason Tovey for Dragons

On song: Jason Tovey

Hallam Amos grabbed a brace and Jason Tovey kicked 15 points as the Dragons triumphed 30-7 over Zebre in Newport.

The Dragons maintained their 100% winning record at Rodney Parade thanks to Amos along with Richie Rees' effort to send the Welsh region on their way to a third consecutive home win of the season.

Italy international Leonardo Sarto responded with a try for the visitors but the damage had already been done as the Dragons secured the victory.

After watching their opponents strike the post with a kick early on, the Dragons went in front with a 15th minute penalty from the in-form Jason Tovey.

The fly-half doubled his side's lead with another penalty minutes later after showing his rapid pace after scything through Zebre's defence.

The Italians will have felt hard done to fall behind after an impressive start and they would have felt even more aggrieved as Tovey added a third penalty on the half hour mark.

In their best attack of the half, Dragons winger Adam Hughes came off his flank and broke free but the final pass went astray as they struggled to find a way through the visitors' defence.

But with Zebre creaking at the line-out, the Dragons finally started taking control of the game and Amos scored the first try of the night with the final play of the half, which Tovey converted to give Lyn Jones' side a 16-0 lead at the break.

Amos touched down for his second try early in the second-half after a lung-busting run from Lions star Toby Faletau and Tovey converted to put the Dragons in a commanding position.

Italian winger Sarto scored Zebre's first points with a well worked try on the flank midway through the second-half, with fly-half Luciano Orquera adding the extras.

But scrum-half Rees got the home crowd back on their feet as he crossed over the whitewash, as Tovey once again kicked the conversion to secure the win, the 100th victory for the Dragons at Rodney Parade.
