Ross Filipo: Scored two tries

Wellington continued with their fine start to the season when they beat Taranaki 29-10 in New Plymouth on Friday.

Ross Filipo led the way for the visitors, scoring a brace of tries in the first half. The Lions' other points came via tries by Shaun Treeby and Adam Hill, and three conversions and a penalty from Lima Sopoaga.

For Taranaki, Daniel Brooks scored a consolation try late in the second half which Andre Taylor converted. Taylor also succeeded with a first half penalty.

The victory is the Lions' second successive one where they have managed to secure a try-scoring bonus point and consolidates their position at the top of the table.

They have a full house of 10 points after two matches - five points ahead of Canterbury, Auckland and Counties Manukau.
