Match-winner: Brian O'Driscoll

A late try by Brian O'Driscoll settled the all-Irish derby in the RaboDirect Pro12 as Leinster defeated Munster 22-16.

In an entertaining opened period fly-half Ian Madigan kicked the visitors into a 12-10 half-time lead, while Ian Keatley and Felix Jones responded with touchdowns for the hosts.

Keatley added two penalties after the break but another Madigan three-pointer and O'Driscoll's score sealed the win and moved Leinster up to second in the league.

The Dublin-based outfit had gone on a seven-match winning run before their 22-18 defeat to Ulster two weeks ago. Although their arch rivals were effectively out of the race to qualify for the top-four, they had the chance to dent Leinster's chances of securing a home semi-final.

But it was the visitors who started the faster and looked to have opened the scoring after four minutes when Rob Kearney crossed the whitewash.

However, referee Nigel Owens referred it to the TMO and he ruled that the full-back failed to ground the ball. They weren't to be denied for long as, from the resulting scrum, Munster infringed and Madigan kicked them ahead.

Two further penalties from the stand-off took them 9-0 ahead before the hosts finally got on the scoreboard through a Keatley try.

Jones then went over as Rob Penney's men took the lead for the first time, although Leinster led at the break via Madigan's fourth penalty.

The home side opened the second half strongly, though, and successive Keatley three-pointers took the score to 16-12 in the Limerick side's favour.

Joe Schmidt's team responded immediately through the boot of their pivot before O'Driscoll was once again the hero.
