Connacht claimed a shock 34-6 victory over Leinster in their PRO12 clash at the Sportsground in Galway on Friday.
Ian Madigan kicked the visitors into an early lead but Connacht struck the first meaningful blow after quarter of an hour when centre Dave McSharry crossed moments after Michael Swift had been held up over the line.
And, although Madigan kicked another three points for the Heineken Cup holders, it was the home side that looked the more incisive and McSharry turned provider midway through the first half as he set up Fetu'u Vainikolo to score.
Brendan Macken was sent to the sin bin for the final ten minutes of the half to make it even more difficult for Leinster. Their hosts took full advantage as Tiernan O'Halloran scored the third try of the night and debutant Dan Parks added a late penalty to make it 22-6 at the break.
Leinster battled hard in the second half but they struggled to gain any sort of momentum as Madigan missed a shot at goal and they were unable exploit a one-man advantage after O'Halloran was yellow-carded just after the hour mark.
Connacht kept their illustrious opponents at bay well and defended their own try-line resolutely when they had to before again taking advantage of having an extra man when Leo Auva'a was sin-binned in the final ten minutes.
The Dublin outfit's ill-discipline cost them once more as the excellent George Naoupu crossed to give the home side a deserved bonus point.
Replacement Ronan Loughney ran in a fifth try in the closing stages as well as Connacht recorded their second win of the season and condemned Leinster to their second defeat of the campaign.

ah mon ami, the difference is you do it with class, humour, a little restraint, and a pinch of irony, all mixed with celtic spirit. (pls check out kennyisgay's posting history. it's easily googleable. half the posts have been expunged by PR due to needlessly offensive content.)
faites vos jeux - rien ne va plus :-)

all done? any residual vocabulary or lexicon of yours you have not plumbed?
(i see you are having to dip into the works of graham chapman and john cleese...... funny, in the film, it's the french who are the unnecessarily rude ones....)
funny movie though!
@PR ed - you might want to check your rules on abuse. some posters don't have as thick a skin as mine. rgds t

still funny! - That I am
you don't play for the ABs - Not anymore
i don't play for france - That's cos you suck
ergo, you are not a winner - Not on this weeks draw
ergo, i am not a loser - In life you are
what you are is a poster on a rugby forum, as am i - astounding observation
what we are doing here is debating - If you say so
you are losing at debating, pretty badly - Congratulations
but it's funny!! - I know
most people reading, even those too dumb to understand (i assume there must be some trolls left who haven't taken the bait), will find it funny - No one's reading cos nobody cares for your opinion
don't you see, the joke is on you? - No one's reading so no one's laughing
i am being argumentative, on purpose, and you just can't let it go - You're looking for responses cos you have no freinds and no life
i'm not insulting you - Fool you pork chop
just outsmarting you - When's graduation?
what else have you got? - You're a knob... you think you're funny but you're not. You're dumber than a bag of hammers. To call you stupid would be an insult to stupid people. I've known sheep who could outwit you. I've worn knickers with higher IQs, but you think you're an intellectual, don't you, ape? Nobody likes you monkey boy. I don't wanna talk to you no more, you empty headed, animal food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction.

Leinster only have 2 important games to play before the 6N: the back to back against Clermont. The rest is only training sessions where losing or winning doesn't matter. Story of the Pro12.

arrogance is what i hate kennyisgay. (if you are indeed gay, you must know something of this, no?) some leinster posters have been very arrogant. if you think leinster would be the ABs, then you should get a room with leinster_goy.

Toulousain & TVaddict.... you 2 need to get a room. Your hatred of the AB's will drive you ladies to an early grave cos guess what? They've dominated the game for over a hunred years and will dominate the game for next hundred.
Nice work Connaught.

(btw tv addict, i'm with you on the AB vs Pumas thread. way too much goes the way of the men in black. they really dont need it. but they endlessly get the rub of decisions. urrggghhhh)

given the performance last night vs PUMAS, does anyone in blue on these pages still think their leinster team wld beat the ABs?
if that is the yardstick, there is only one NH team (club or intl) that has achieved that in the past 10 years......
....no prizes for guessing which team that is.......

yes indeed mon ami carpelone!
i guess it was going to happen eventually. once you are hcup champions (several times over) everyone wants your scalp and plays their best game of the season against you. add to that the chronic squad rotation so far this season and i feel we really aren't in a position to be able to say anything particularly conclusive about this season's leinster team yet. except that they could easily be played 4 lost 4 so far.
as an outsider looking in, it feels like the old guard may be a season or so too long in the tooth, while the youth is perhaps a season or two undercooked. which means the 12/13 campaign could be a challenge, especially if a few guys pick up injuries. but hey, what do we know?
(ps. meanwhile, those boks finally came good. louw's overhead dummy and pass off his left hand to habana for the hat-trick. i was off my feet!!!!!!!!!)

A very proud Connacht supporter with a very sore head. The lads really filled the jersey last night and cut out the handling and defensive errors that have ruined previous performances. Hopefully we can play with this accuracy and intensity in the future and not just pull it out of the drawer during the inter pro's. I think Dan Parks aside the back line must have had an average age in the early 20's so things look promising. I hope kidney was taking note and we are allowed to build on this and aren't fleeced again come the end of the season.
