Federico Aramburu: Celebrates his try for Glasgow

Glasgow recorded their sixth home Heineken Cup win out of seven on Sunday as they overcame Montpellier 20-15 in a hard-fought affair at Firhill.

There was a disjointed start to proceedings, with neither side threatening to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

Glasgow took the lead in the 13th minute when Montpellier were caught offside, allowing Duncan Weir the opportunity to kick the home side in front.

The French side responded with a penalty of their own five minutes later, Martin Bustos Moyano kicked his side level after Glasgow were too eager at the breakdown.

Weir then spurned an opportunity to put his side back in front with a missed penalty seconds after the kick-off, but made no mistake minutes later when Montpellier again strayed offside.

The visitors took the lead on the half-hour mark, however, when scrum half Eric Escande nipped over the line following the scrum to score a converted try.

That made it 6-10 to Montpellier but Glasgow had regained the lead by the time the interval arrived courtesy of two more Weir penalties.

Weir's penalty miss seconds after the restart kept the home side's advantage down to two and it wasn't until the 68th minute that we had our next points of the game.

This time it was substitute Rauridh Jackson on hand to kick the penalty, giving Glasgow 15-10 lead.

Then, with little over five minutes remaining, Federico Martin Aramburu crashed over for the home side after the ball was worked out to the right.

The conversion was missed but, despite a late consolation try from Sakiusa Matadigo, Glasgow had done enough to secure the win.
