Bay of Plenty got their ITM Cup campaign off to a winning start by defeating Counties-Manukau 20-13 at Bayer Growers Stadium on Sunday.

Bay of Plenty got their 2011 ITM Cup campaign off to a successful start by defeating Counties-Manukau 20-13 at Bayer Growers Stadium on Sunday.

In the first Premiership v Championship game of the new format, little separated the pair, as BoP outscored their hosts by two tries to one.

Hooker Daniel Perrin and full-back Toby Arnold crossed either side of the break while inside centre Niva Ta'auso got Counties' only try.
