Toulouse have been dealt another blow with the news that Louis Picamoles will miss the first month of the season.
The French international number eight is ill according to coach Guy Novès and will not return until September 15th at the earliest.
Picamoles had already endured a difficult last season, struggling with injury and in particular a hip problem.
And his injury is the latest in a series of absences for Toulouse, who will kick off the season against Oyonnax on Saturday.
Skipper Thierry Dusautoir has already been ruled out for the first three games of the season with a thigh problem, while Yoann Maestri is also not available.
Long-term absentees Schalk Ferreira, who tore a tendon in his bicep in pre-season, and Chiliboy Rallepelle will both be missing, and they are likely to be joined by Luke McAlister and Gilian Galan who are struggling with stomach and elbow problems respectively.
Toulouse are looking to bounce back from a second straight season without silverware, having been knocked out in the play-offs of the Top 14 and the Heineken Cup quarter-finals last campaign.
