Former Ireland head coach Eddie O'Sullivan has been confirmed as the new boss of relegated Top 14 side Biarritz.
Munster and Biarritz were both interested in the former coach of the Ireland and United States, although O'Sullivan had only been linked with an assistant coach's role at his former province.
O'Sullivan chose to decline the offer of the Irish province and accepted the proposal from Serge Blanco to lead the French club.
O'Sullivan won three Triple Crowns and has coached in three Rugby World Cups, twice with Ireland and lately with the USA in 2011.
He was also assistant coach of the British and Irish Lions during the 2005 tour to New Zealand.
O'Sullivan is due to unveil his two assistant coaches in due course, according to the club.
