Despite being previously linked with Toulon, France fly-half Camille Lopez is now reportedly set to join Clermont next season.
Lopez's current side, Perpignan, were relegated from the Top 14 last weekend after losing to Clermont, despite coming agonisingly close to ending the 77-game undefeated run at the Stade Marcel Michelin.
The 25-year-old was not involved for USAP, having been sidelined since December after rupturing his ACL.
Lopez would compete with veterans Brock James and Mike Delany for the starting role with les Jaunards.
RMC Sport are reporting that the French international, who has two caps, will join Clermont on a three-year deal.
This season's Heineken Cup semi-finalists have already made several high profile signings for next season, including France lock Sébastien Vahaamahina, Wales centre Jonathan Davies, All Blacks star Zac Guildford and Bath's Nick Abendanon.
