Enjoying French adventure: Ali Williams

Former All Black second-row Ali Williams has to extend his stay in Toulon by one year after admitting he is loving life in France.

The 32-year-old lock's deal was set to come to an end in June 2014 but he has now committed to the Top14 giants until June 2015.

"I love it here," Williams told Midi Olympique.

"This is completely different from what I knew in New Zealand. I never left my country. The people here are magical. I feel that there is a real connection and I want to stay."

Toulon sit second in the Top14 table, and will look to record their third win of the Heineken Cup pool stages on Saturday as they welcome Exeter Chiefs to Stade Felix Mayol.

The Kiwi lock feels his side are building momentum.

"We had a very good defence and that is a very good sign. It shows we are growing together," added Williams.

"However, this weekend we will have to be even more effective. But we are enjoying what we are doing and are understanding our roles better and better.

"In rugby it's really a long process, week by week and we must constantly challenge ourselves. We are trying to work out the details and when it succeeds, the public will see a big difference."
