Top 14 side Montpellier have signed Kiwi back-row forward Paul Grant as a replacement for injured captain and French international Fulgence Ouedraogo.
27-year-old Ouedraogo has been ruled out for around three months after undergoing an operation on a shoulder he injured during France's 38-18 Test win over Tonga on November 16.
26-year-old Grant, who has represented New Zealand at Sevens level, arrives from Otago with whom he began his career and where he has usually played number eight but has also filled in at lock.
He arrived in Montpellier on Tuesday. Montpellier are presently fourth in the Top 14 table, three points off leaders Toulon and Clermont, after 12 games.
