Montpellier flanker Mamuka Gorgodze is set to miss the start of the Top 14 season due to a calf injury.
Gorgodze tore his calf in training and will now be unavailable for a period of around two months, according to a club statement on Thursday.
An inspirational force in the Montpellier pack, Gorgodze will now definitely miss the Top 14 season opener against Toulon on August 16th.
The Georgian international is also expected to miss matches against Biarritz, Brive, Bordeaux-Begles, Toulouse, Perpignan, Clermont and Stade Français.
Montpellier will also be without hooker Thomas Bianchin, their new signing from Racing Métro, for a similar period of time.
Bianchin fractured his foot in training and is expected to miss around seven to eight weeks.
