Raphael Lakafia: Penned a new two-year deal

Biarritz number eight Raphael Lakafia has signed a new two-year contract.

Lakafia's recommitment will be a boost for BO, who failed to progress to the Heineken Cup quarter-finals and are languishing close to the bottom of the Top 14 table.

The 23-year-was a surprise inclusion in France's World Cup squad as he was uncapped at Test level at the time.

However, after making his debut in a World Cup warm-up match last August, he appeared in matches against Japan and Tonga at the tournament in New Zealand.

Racing Metro were also keen on recruiting Lakafia who they viewed as a long-term replacement for Sebastien Chabal.
