Set to earn first cap: Jonathan Pélissié

France have trimmed four players from their squad to face Tonga on Saturday with Florian Fritz and Yoann Huget amongst those given a rest.

The duo are joined by fellow Toulouse back Jean-Marc Doussain and Racing Metro loose forward Wenceslas Lauret in being given the weekend off as Philippe Saint-André cuts his squad from 30 to 26.

Fritz was one of France's best players against New Zealand, leading the tackle count with 10 hits, and is expected to be recalled for next week's clash with the Springboks at the Stade de France.

Lauret was also outstanding but makes way for fit-again Montpellier flank Fulgence Ouedraogo.

With just 10 backs remaining in the group Frédéric Michalak is almost certain to add to his 66 caps while Montpellier scrum-half Jonathan Pélissié and Perpignan wing Sofiane Guitoune are likely to win their first caps.

Forwards (16): Vincent Debaty (Clermont), Yannick Forestier (Castres), Benjamin Kayser (Clermont), Dimitri Szarzewski (Racing-Métro), Nicolas Mas (Montpellier), Rabah Slimani (Stade Français), Alexandre Flanquart (Stade Français), Yoann Maestri (Toulouse), Pascal Papé (Stade Français), Sebastien Vahaamahina (Perpignan), Thierry Dusautoir (Toulouse, captain), Bernard Le Roux (Racing-Métro), Yannick Nyanga (Toulouse), Fulgence Ouedraogo (Montpellier), Damian Chouly (Clermont), Antonie Claassen (Castres)

Backs (10): Jonathan Pélissié (Montpellier), Morgan Parra (Clermont), Frederic Michalak (Toulon), Remi Talès (Castres), Mathieu Bastareaud (Toulon), Gael Fickou (Toulouse), Wesley Fofana (Clermont), Maxime Médard (Toulouse), Sofiane Guitoune (Perpignan), Brice Dulin (Castres)
