Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer has revealed he wants Patrick Lambie to be comfortable in two positions by the 2015 World Cup.
Lambie, who shone at fly-half for the Sharks in the Currie Cup Final, has been picked at full-back for the Boks clash with Wales in Cardiff on Saturday, but Meyer said he will also utilise the 23-year-old at pivot during the end of year tour.
"For a World Cup tournament you need players who are at home in more than one position," Meyer told Die Burger's website.
"I don't want to give too much away, but Pat is good under the high ball and brings something different on attack. He will also play fly-half."
After the Wales Test, South Africa also face Scotland in Edinburgh on November 17 and France in Paris on November 23.
