England and Leicester Tigers centre Manu Tuilagi is set to be sidelined for two months due to a chest injury.
The 22-year-old sustained the injury in last Saturday's 31-6 Premiership win over Newcastle.
"Manu has a suspected torn pectoral muscle in his chest," said Leicester coach Richard Cockerill.
"He's going for further investigation today (Tuesday) and it is hard to tell how long he will be out, but it's going to be weeks leading to months potentially.
"These things happen. Hopefully, he will not be out for too long. Six to eight weeks at best but it may be longer depending how much damage there is."
Tuilagi missed the first two weeks of the season whilst he recovered from a shoulder injury suffered on the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia.
The news will come as a significant blow for the England camp, who are already set to be without Brad Barritt.
