Strong start: Billy Twelvetrees

Gloucester and England centre Billy Twelvetrees has praised the connection between himself and team-mate fly-half Freddie Burns.

Burns and Twelvetrees combined in midfield for England in their comfortable 32-3 victory over Argentina in the first Test in Salta last weekend.

With a first ever series victory on Argentinian soil in sight on Saturday in Buenos Aires, Twelvetrees admits the playing time accumulated between himself and Burns for Gloucester has paid off on the international stage.

"We know how each other plays and to bring that to the England shirt is very pleasing," said Twelvetrees.

"The good thing is that playing with a guy week in, week out back at club rugby means you trust each other and have that communication.

"We got the win and there are things to improve on but we're just very happy going forward to have a win under our belts.

"It's been our focus since we met up a few weeks ago to win back-to-back Tests here. It hasn't been done before, and to get a series win over here would be fantastic. That's everyone's focus."

England fielded five new caps in the first Test, including new Gloucester signing Matt Kvesic along with Christian Wade, Henry Thomas, Kyle Eastmond and Billy Vunipola.

Having made his own England debut earlier this year in the Six Nations, Twelvetrees praised the new caps for the seamless way they had been integrated into the England camp.

"It's great for all the first caps, they were terrific and contributed a lot to the team. It's great that these boys can come and show what they can do and not look out of place," added Twelvetrees.

"That's what this England team is about - people coming in and showing how good they are and building trust between players and coaches."
