Fiji supporters won't get to see the All Blacks in Suva

New Zealand have put a damper on Fiji's 100th anniversary celebrations by claiming they are too busy to play the islanders in a commemorative Test.

The Fijian Rugby Union wrote to the New Zealand Rugby Union last August requesting a June Test against the All Blacks in Suva, Fiji's capital, to mark the occasion.

But, according to the New Zealand Herald, the NZRU rejected their offer citing the World Cup winners already full schedule.

However, in 2011, a Test was organised by the NZRU organised at short notice against Fiji when it suited the All Blacks' World Cup preparations and Fiji, along with other smaller nations, feel they are being neglected by the more powerful nations.

Samoa and Tonga have also requested to host the All Blacks only to be similarly rebuffed.

After being rejected by other Test-playing nations, too, Fiji will now instead play a Classic All Blacks side featuring relatively recent Test players such as Chris Masoe, Jerome Kaino, Joe Rokocoko and Sitiveni Sivivatu, as well as veterans Carlos Spencer and Justin Marshall.
