@ ZAoorALLES: Serfontein at 12 and Jordaan at 13? Stop... you're making me salivate! And then add Goosen at 10... No, I'm not going to get myself excited, because with HM as coach we'll never see that.
@ rolf: Unfortunately, yes - with Morné Steyn, Spies, Greyling and Kirchner in our 22 there is no way we will win the Rugby Championship... and will have to struggle to come 2nd. So our only hope is that Steyn, Spies, et al. plays SO bad against Argentina that HM has no choice but to make changes. (However, I'm not sure if they can play any worse than they already are...)

@Jay
Agree on Jordaan. What a talent. Huge futures for him & Serfontein.

Ridiculous that de Jongh was not picked before Engelbrecht and Olivier. Their only claim is that they play for the Bulls. The sort of irrational bias for Bulls players shown by Meyer would get him disqualified in many areas of life--Spies has not played any decent rugby for years and still gets picked. Engelbrecht before Aplon???

That's a real shame about Pietersen, who has been in terrific form this season. It happens occasionally that the world game, and not just a country, loses a back when he is at his most lethal.
De Jongh is an exceptional player, however. As a Kiwi I feel anxious whenever the ball is near him. I am surprised he wasn't in the squad in the first place.

JP Pietersen out for six to eight weeks? Massive blow. So the picking-order for centres was de Villiers, Steyn, Olivier, Engelbrecht, Pietersen and then de Jongh? Very contentious...

He should have been there in the first place instead of JJ Engelbrecht who has only played his first season of Super Rugby and done NOTHING to show that he is Springbok quality... Even Robert Ebersohn and Paul Jordaan (who can both also play wing) have done far more than Engelbrecht...
With Meyer it is clearly still a case of "Bulls first" - whether he admits his bias to himself or not. How on earth Pierre Spies, Morné Steyn and Zane Kirchner can still be there is beyond me... or Jano Vermaak - WHAT has he done!?
SA's only chance of winning the Rugby Championship is if Johan Goosen, Duanne Vermeulen and Coenie Oosthuizen come back from injury before we play AUS and NZ - and are included in the match-day 22 at the expense of Morné Steyn, Pierre Spies and Dean Greyling. I'd rather have Zane Kirchner at 15 and have Patrick Lambie at 10 than have Morné Steyn at 10 and Lambie at 15.
