@APV1
Even though Wales are giving caps ,the Barbarains game wont count towards the rankings ,as the Barbarains arnt in them at all.They are not a nation and thus dont qualify for IRB recognition as a natinal side ,plus they are invitational only with capped players from many nations .
@Seapointrer
Posters here and elsewhere have argued for years ,for the inclusion of a shield competation to the RWC,for the teams not qualifying for the QFs and those nations finishing 3rd in the groups.In fact England wanted to introduce it in their bid for 2011 and 2015,but the IRB wouldnt let them.Real shame imo and a lost oppotunity as it would prolong the lesser nations paticpation and give them a crediable goal to play for apart from reaching the QFs or getting an automatic qualifying place.I really feel it needs to come asap for the game to really grow in those tier2-3 nations

great to see a shield/plate introduced for the 3 and 4th based teams in the groups to give lesser nations something to play for -----maybe in 2019

Yea but I like the band system, makes the draw actually worth watching & once the venues are comfirmed I can start fantasizing about the games for the next 3 years lol.

@jontheref - that would be wrong, no advantage to be number one, better be number 4 ranked in your seating. Poules should be:
- 1,8,12
- 2,7,11
- 3,6,10
- 4,5,9

If they were going to do this properly, pool 1 would have
1,8 and 9
Pool 2, 2, 7 and 10
pool 3 , 3, 6 and 11
pool 4, 4, 5, and 12.
By putting the randomness into the selections, apar from the so called top 4 at that time, it is rather pointless.
Don't comment now, wait until the draw, and see I'm right!

What happens with the Wales : Baa-Baas match? If Wales are awarding caps for it, then shouldn't it count towards their IRB Rankings? But it can't, as the Baa-Baas don't have a place on the table and the rankings work by one team taking the points from the other.
Doesn't this just make a farce of Wales awarding caps for non-international matches? Should England be awarding them for their mid-week games in SA? Well the players are representing their country, so why not?
@ JamieTheProp - yep! can't wait!
