Australia have rolled over and died in the forwards. Their backline (as far as the last Australia backline I saw play) is probably the world's best, but their forwards are easily rattled, and then fall into the 'roll over and die' catergory, Look at games against England, Ireland, and even Samoa. But I do agree rugby in Europe as a whole is hardly cut throat. The only international teams I would call cut throat are the All Blacks, South Africa, and Wales as they all take every oppurtunity given to them.

Well I think what this is is a case of a not so great coach trying to big himself up some...he certainly hasn't been very good at munster recently...

Since when have the wallabies not been ruthless,or for that matter any proffesiional rugby team .The S15 is littered with teams being ruhless hence the usually higher one sided scorlines of matches and if anything the NH has just caught up with that mindset

two questions:
is there really a "cut throat mentality and mindset prevalent in European rugby" and have the Wallabies lacked a "ruthless edge" ?
Sure they have had losses but can't think of any in the 'roll over and die category', more the opposite they have continued to the last minute taking whatever opportunities they had, think this has often been a quality of Oz teams, some great last-second wins over the years.
I'm unsure what mindset is prevalent in Euro rugby, but cut throat would not be top of my list.
