OUCH not a nice injury as it takes a long time to fully recover and god it is painful Get well quick O'Connor a class player needed by the wallabies and their fans and by us neuatrals ,back on the pitch delighting us all with your skills

I'm always impressed by how physical O'Connor is in the game, and how he is prepared to take the pain and knocks. But this injury is considerably more than the usual, and it's not just about character.

Horryfying injury this one, similar to that suffered by Wilkinson a few years ago although not quite as bad. But just shows the extent of physicality experienced at the top level. Backs with real talent like O'Connor have to be close marked and probably take more stick than those whose skills are less developed. I wonder how long it's going to be before we hear of a fatality at this level, retirements due to chronic injury are on the rise, watch this space.
