Newcastle Falcons were heavy 37-15 winners over indisciplined Italian side Calvisano in Sunday's opening Challenge Cup fixture.
Five-pointers from Zack Kibirige, Chris York, a penalty try and a brace from winger Noah Cato were enough to secure both the win and the bonus point for the Premiership outfit.
The match brought about a total of six yellow cards, with four dished out to the visiting Italians.
Calvisano's two tries came from Michele Visentin and number eight Braam Steyn.
But the result was rarely in doubt, with Dean Richards' men always likely to prove too strong on their home turf.
