sandal --- you have been made a right f*ck wit mate. sadly you represent most on this website. the only hapless touring sides are northern hemisphere ones mate, it is impossible for sourthern heavyweights to field understrength teams when they go north

I have to hold my hand up and say I called this one wrongly.

Looking again at the Baabaas, the squad wasn't as strong as some have been recently, and I guess some of the players lacked motivation. The visitors fielded a stronger team than is usual in these encounters.

Still, well done to Aus.

PR says:

""The Barbarians have put together a powerful, experienced line-up as they attempt to follow up wins over New Zealand and South Africa in the last two years with another over the Wallabies.""

Oh really? These encounters can be fun, but the Baabaas are not what they were, and were for many years. What we get these days is a multinational selection of the world's top players ganging up on some hapless (usually under-strength) touring squad.

What is the connection between the Baabaas playing the Wallabies this year, and the Baabaas who played the All Blacks and the Springboks in the two previous years?

"They", as PR refers to them, are hardly an entity any more. Just who, or what, do "they" represent?

I don't see why this is such a huge story before the game,... if he playes well, AND switches codes,... then the press can start turning the screw,... but give the lad a chance,.. he hasn't touched the ball in union yet and I'm sure there are those in the press somewhere nailing him on for a summer tour...
