"Agree with APV1 on another thread, the England strip is a joke!!!" - powerplay
It reminds me of the bubblewrap nerds from Dude Where's My Car. I know it doesn't look the same ...but both outfits share the same nerdy vibe.
Glad to hear that the squad is going to be looked after a bit better. the RFU seem to have been paying lip service to the 7's squad and that attitude was certainly reflected in the performances of the players.

I guess the 7s team are looking for their own identity and not just be a side show to the 15 man game.Hence the new kits.Makes a kinda sense as has been mentioned its now an olympic sport when the 15 man isnt.,Its also good to see the RFU putting more resources and effort into 7s ,and again understandable as more countries are putting resources and time/effort into 7s as they prepare for its olympic debut. If England want to remain a world power in 7s its nessaseary .As to the actual olympics it would have to be a GB team with players drawn from Wales-Scotland and Ireland(northern) which most probible explains the IRFUs reluctance to take 7s seriously there ,as all Irish players north and south atm are able to play for Ireland although there seperate countries through tradtion and convention. That wouldnt be possible in the olympics.Hence no Irish 7s team at all atm (hope that changes but feel it wont)

@APV1... Is England Ruby not branded?? Wow i didnt know that...hence the different colours and all...huh? When you mentioned that the uniform was shocking, I didn't quite get what you meant, until i looked at the picture. Bright purple with Fluro yellow/lime..makes me think they're about to do road works at Heathrow airport-let alone play ruggas! Im all for change and so forth, especially if theyve got to make money off the jersey..i particularly like the tequila sunrise one..i thought it made the team look awesome, and it showed when they played! Here's a thought, wouldnt focussing on winning and playing attractive rubgy first, lead on to more jersey's being sold??? Now about the squad...where is Ben Gollings?? If he is unable to play, then sure he would be used as a mentor or assistant coach of some sorts! Yes, England need new guys, but they also need the mentoring from the older heads, the passing down of the successful culture so that able bodies are mixed with wisdom and experince. If there is anything to learn from NZ, Its how-or the process of-blooding new players. DJ Forbes..is a perfect example..another is ultimate legends Eric Rush, Brian Lima, and Serevi..

@ powerplay - makes a nice change that someone agrees with me! ;-)
But it is daft. This purple one with the lime green stripe... And the "Tequila sunrise" one as well. What's wrong with a white shirt, with a red rose? For "away" games, a red shirt.
15s, 7s, age-grade, Saxons. All the same. "Brand England Rugby"!

".........off field resources..." Does that mean that EACH player will have a fitness coach, a psychologist, an attack advisor, a defence councellor, a team interactive facilitator......., well you get the picture. EVERY England team player has a horde of aides who rush on to the field at any given moment. Shades of the BR & I Lions in NZ - I've never seen so many off-fielders rushing on-field to cosset their [individual] charges.

Boo hoo, yes the strip is not nice. There's not much we can do about it, and it's been gone over countless times. Please can we actually comment on the rugby now please?
I'm pretty happy about the fact that squad is increasing in size - I'm assuming it's a reflection of the fact that a lot of countries are now taking 7s quite seriously because of the Olympics. The build up to 2016 starts this year, so it's pretty interesting to see even the bigger/typically well-performing sides are upping the ante as well...
