Leicester's injury woes continued on Wednesday when three more centres were ruled out ahead of their LV= Cup clash with the Ospreys on Saturday.
Dan Bowden and Matt Smith will be sidelined for their opening group fixture of the competition, with Terrence Hepetema missing for a longer spell.
According to the Leicester Mercury, Bowden and Smith were concussed in recent Premiership action against Harlequins so take the week off.
But for 21-year-old Hepetema, the Kiwi suffered a fractured eye socket and will subsequently be out of rugby action for approximately six weeks.
"The injury curse keeps coming back to get us but we have to keep doing what we are doing," rugby director Richard Cockerill told the newspaper.
"The side for Friday will be a youthful one, with three or four senior guys in there who need game time.
"We've had multiple injuries and not one has come at training.
"They have all happened in games, and that is purely down to bad luck.
"But for that many injuries to hit us in midfield, you have to keep smiling otherwise you'd cry."
