Foot injury: Callie Visagie

Bulls front-row pair Callie Visagie and Marcel van der Merwe will be absent from training this week, as the squad prepare for 2014's Currie Cup action.

The hooker and prop have a foot and back injury respectively and are in a race against time to be fit to face the Lions in Johannesburg on August 9.

In positive news, however, flanker Roelof Smit has responded well to treatment for a quad strain and will be able to train on Thursday, while Bulls team doctor Org Strauss confirmed that winger Bjorn Basson (ankle) and back-row Jacques du Plessis (jaw) were also recovering well.
