The return of captain Alex Bradley is one of four changes to the Waikato starting XV for their away clash with Wellington Lions on Saturday.
Number eight Bradley, after missing Tuesday's match versus Bay of Plenty, replaces Rory Grice.
Injuries to Zak Hohneck and Declan O'Donnell means flank Jono Armstrong and wing Glen Robertson will make their first starts for Waikato after both made their debuts off the bench versus North Harbour in their ITM Cup season opener.
The final change to the team is on the other wing where Tim Mikkelson returns to the XV in what will be his 50th appearance for the province.
Midfield back Jackson Willison also returns to the squad but will do so via the bench.
