Will Addison Sale Harlequins LV Cup

Head-to-head: Sale v Harlequins

It's that time of week where we put our heads on the chopping block with Planet Rugby's predictions from both hemispheres.

The dust has settled on last weekend's Heineken Cup action, so we're back into the thick of the domestic duties. There are some important games in both Premiership and PRO12, with the race for the playoffs and Europe hotting up, while Super Rugby continues to excite below the Equator.

So despite the Euro-excitement being over for now, there are still rugby betting opportunities aplenty across the three tournaments.

Let's get started.

PRO12

Ospreys v Leinster: The visitors are top of the table and can focus all their efforts on the PRO12 after being knocked out of the Heineken Cup. That's reflected in Matt O'Connor's strong lineup, and we expect the Dubliners to take the spoils in Swansea. A 6-10 winning margin is a good prospect at 9/2 with Paddy Power while we'd advise backing Dave Kearney to score first at 10/1. We can't see anything other than an away win for a side desperate to bounce back from Euro disappointment. Leinster by 8.

Other SuperBru Pro12 predictions:

Edinburgh v Cardiff: Edinburgh by 8
Ulster v Connacht: Ulster by 10
Treviso v Dragons: Treviso by 4
Scarlets v Zebre: Scarlets by 10
Munster v Glasgow: Munster by 5

Premiership

Sale Sharks v Harlequins: This one should be tight, with both sides gunning for a high-placed finish. There are plenty intriguing options in the first scorer markets, with the in-form Mark Cueto a 7/1 favourite having bagged eight tries so far this season. But England stars Mike Brown (14/1) and Danny Care (16/1) are on fire just now, and both are worth exploring. We think, with home advantage, Sale will edge this, and we're backing a 1-5 point win at 7/2. Sale by 3.

Other SuperBruPremiership predictions:

Leicester v Wasps: Leicester by 7
Gloucester v Bath: Bath by 8
Worcester v Exeter: Exeter by 7
Saracens v Northampton Saints: Sarries by 5
London Irish v Newcastle: Irish by 9

Super Rugby

Force v Waratahs: The Force made history with their win over the Reds last week, and you could do worse than punting on them to make it five wins in a row against the high-flying 'Tahs at 8/5 in Perth. We reckon this will be a pretty high-scoring affair, but not a one-sided game - the 'Tahs by 6-10 at 7/2 is a good option. The Force have every chance of extending their winning run, but we believe the streak will come to an end on Saturday with the visiting pack likely to gain the upper hand and the backline lethal. Waratahs by 7.

Superbru Super Rugby predictions:

Chiefs v Rebels: Chiefs by 20
Cheetahs v Crusaders: Crusaders by 10
Lions v Sharks: Sharks by 14

Good luck!
