J_DHK i think that you did actually say that they couldn't have been that good which was the issue i was disagreeing with. As for who tries are scored against, three of Cuthberts tries came against Edinburgh - who you say aren't that good - should they be discounted??? The fact remains Visser is the top try scorer and for a winger try scoring should be a relativly high priority.

If European and Internatinal should be irrelevent then this does in some ways count in favour of Visser who as of yet does not qualify for Scotland but the fact remain he has stood out in the league and gets his reward.

How is this a dream team???

Leinster's league side would comfortably beat this supposed dream team. Ian Madigan has been a top out half in the league.

Only 2 places for the team that have been runaway leaders all season, doesn't say much for the crediablity of this team.

It wreaks of "we have to have one from every team" mentality.

I would agree with Isa, Visser, Pienearr, Tipuric, Toughy, Botha and Strauss in the team but would change the rest. Based purely on League form.

Not sure about Weir, but the rest looks about right. Interesting to see only two Leinster player in the team though.

re: Tim Visser try scoring record... fair enough.. but four of those tries were against Aironi and as he had no involvement in 6N or WC means he has played so his try/min is less than Cuthbert and if you leave out Aironi tries it's less than Zebo.

Yes I have watched Visser and Denton play. and I never said that Denton and Visser were bad players - "Surely the logic of this Dream Team would be that those selected are the best players in those positions throughout the Pro12 season." Is this really the case with a lot of the players in this Dream Team?

Heineken cup games and International performances should be irrelevant in this selection.

and @ theRealH - Are Goosen and O'Connor really the best performers in their positions in the S15 this season? ...reeeeallly? Considering Goosen is going to be out injured for the rest of the season... unlikely he'll be in it and looks like O'Connor won't be making it back for the next two months...

So, you know, think before you type.

So by HDK's reasoning, Johan Goosen is a bad player, and so is James o 'Conner because their sides have only won 3 and 2 games respectively. Not a lot of logic there I'm afraid

Have you watched Visser and Denton play in the 12 HDK are are you just basing your opinion on reading a scoreline in the newspaper?

Well J_HDK i'm not sure I understand your thinking. Surely the reason Visser was picked was because he broke the league try scroing record.... again. This is a not a bad effort for a man in a team which as you pointed out is finding it hard to win and yet he has managed to score three more than the second highest scorer this season. As for Denton he has also had a strong season both for Edinburgh and Scotland and I cannot really see any other flankers playing more matches and putting in more time and solid performances in the league.

As for Edinburgh not being that good, true they have struggled to find league form but a European semi-final is hard to argue with for an achievment in what is the begining of a new coaching era.

In this side which is obviuoly building for the future what is these guys have show great ability, standing out and puting in many good performance which have got them selected for Scotland and winning Man of the Match awards or scoring a twice for the baa baas on debut. They have obviously had to play well in the league to get recognised.

I'm not saying this dream team is perfect but its not too bad.

Well it just goes to show how completely and utterly clueless most sports journalists are.

Surely the logic of this Dream Team would be that those selected are the best players in those positions throughout the Pro12 season.

Edinburgh have two players in this team yet are only above Aironi...

Denton and Visser obviously couldn't have been that good.... or are they saying that everyone else on the Edinburgh squad is so bad that they sufficiently cancelled out how good Denton and Visser are to the point that they only have won five matches all season?

Joke of a dream team.

I don't mean to pick on Edinburgh just using it as a representative example.
