He'll be sorely missed by the Dragons. His international career was short but he made a lot of family and friends proud. I don't count myself among friends, but we went to school together and he gave me advice when injured, which was greatly appreciated when young, cranky and smarting. Like the Dragons statement said, he was the epitomy of hard work and commitment. He wasn't the smartest in school, but he never got into too much trouble, and people respected him. I was proud when I saw him develop as an industrious hooker at Pontypool, before being scouted for Cross Keys and eventually getting his break with the Dragons and Wales.
Lloyd, I'm sorry that your career only really broke into life for such a short period, but you were privileged to play in one of the finest Wales teams in a generation, at a World Cup.
Best of luck in your life after playing.

sad and a blow for wales and dragons, how does a neck injury lead to a heart problem though?

That is a shame, obviously a bloke who put in an immense amount of work and like makemehappy says provides some inspiration for people that international rugby isn't over if you aren't picked up at a young age. I enjoyed watching him play and he always looked like he had the attributes to be a real quality player long term for Wales.

A real shame. He set an example of what someone can do, who hasn't come through the youth system. Hope they address his health problems!
Bad luck Dragons - must be time to have a rethink about the aims of the club - possibly a feeder club for the other 3, with promising players being loaned to the Dragons?
