Heading overseas: Brad Thorn

Former All Blacks second-row Brad Thorn has parted ways with the Highlanders after two seasons at the Dunedin-based franchise.

The 39-year-old, who represented New Zealand in 60 Tests and who played 111 Super Rugby matches for the Highlanders and the Crusaders, has not revealed where he will be going but it is believed to be to an overseas-based club.

Thorn was on the sidelines for most of the 2014 season after sustaining a bicep injury in April, which required surgery.

He was part of the All Blacks' World Cup winning squad and also had a decorated rugby league career in which he played for the Brisbane Broncos in the NRL and Queensland in State of Origin.
