All Blacks wing Hosea Gear has confirmed that he will be joining the Chiefs for the 2015 Super Rugby season.
Gear, who is aiming to win a spot in the All Blacks' squad for next year's World Cup in England, revealed the news via Twitter on Sunday.
"Looking forward to being apart of Chiefs' Rugby mana 2015," he tweeted.
30-year-old Gear has made no secret of his desire to try win a place in the All Blacks squad for the World Cup having cut short his stint at Toulouse.
He is currently playing on a short-term deal with Honda Heat in Japan and will join the Chiefs in February.
Competition is tough for a position amongst the outside backs for the All Blacks with Julian Savea, Charles Piutau, Ben Smith, Cory Jane and Israel Dagg all vying for places to be in the starting line-up in the opening Rugby Championship Test against the Wallabies in Sydney on Saturday.
