According to a report, the Sharks have completed a deal to sign Lionel Cronje from the Brumbies as he strives to spark a delayed Super Rugby career.
The Sydney Morning Herald believe the 25-year-old will play Currie Cup rugby for the Sharks this season, with a return home set to be imminent.
"With the Brumbies losing this week my plans may have changed, I'm waiting to hear what's happening," the ten told the Australian website.
"I'd love to be here until the end of the competition, but it's out of my control. Playing five-eighth and aged 25, I've only got a few more years if I really want to make it.
"With Christian and Pup [Toomua] signed up [with Brumbies] for another two years, game time was going to be hard for me, and my goal is to play Super Rugby.
"I'm fortunate I got to play in Canberra, and really happy I've got the chance to go home and hopefully achieve that dream of mine."
