Should be close: Bath v Sarries

It's that time of week where we put our heads on the chopping block, and bring you Planet Rugby's predictions from both hemispheres.

We've got a touch of respite from the Six Nations this weekend as the tournament takes its final break ahead of the final two Rounds, but Super Rugby is beginning to get into its stride, while the Premiership, PRO12 and Top 14 continue to play out.

With so many games to choose from, betting opportunities are not hard to come by - Paddy Power is the best place to splash your cash.

Let's get started.

Super Rugby

Chiefs v Highlanders: The defending champions welcome one of their more entertaining but inconsistent conference rivals to Hamilton on Saturday, and are rightly touted as comfortable favourites - handicapping them (-10) pays out at just below evens with Paddy Power. The Highlanders are known for their thrilling brand of rugby, but shouldn't prove too great a challenge for their hosts after a disastrous 2013. With that in mind, winning margins of 11-15 and 16-20 for the champs look the most enticing, returning 5/1 and 15/2 respectively. The Chiefs should be pretty comfortable here, and we're tipping them to win by about 14 points.

Other Super Rugby predictions:

Rebels v Cheetahs: Cheetahs by 5
Stormers v Hurricanes: Stormers by 8
Waratahs v Reds: 'Tahs by 7
Western Force v Brumbies: Brumbies by 6
Bulls v Lions: Bulls by 5

Premiership:

Bath v Saracens: This one should be a cracker between two sides with genuine title aspirations. Sarries haven't been their barnstorming selves of late, especially on the road, but remain atop the Premiership table, ten points clear of Bath in third spot. The hosts are slight favourites, with a handicap of (-2) paying out at 10/11. In terms of winning margins, either side to triumph by 1-5 points are the most likely outcomes, both returning in the region of four times your stake. Anthony Watson and Dave Strettle are two of the more tempting first try-scorer options, both paying out 10/1. We reckon this one will be very tight, and very tough to call, but we agree with the bookies' notion that Bath will shade it by under five points.

Other SuperBru Aviva Premiership Predictions:

Exeter Chiefs v London Irish: Chiefs by 7
Harlequins v Worcester Warriors: Quins by 15
London Wasps v Sale Sharks: Wasps by 5
Northampton Saints v Gloucester: Saints by 10
Newcastle Falcons v Leicester Tigers: Tigers by 9

PRO12:

Edinburgh v Ospreys: Relocating to Meggetland for the first time on Friday, inconsistent Edinburgh take on the Ospreys. The hosts have a quality squad, but have struggled to press home their dominance during recent PRO12 fixtures, losing their last three games. The Ospreys have plenty of pedigree beyond their Wales contingent too, and will fancy their chances of departing the Scottish capital with a win in the bag. The visitors are slight 4/7 favourites, but Edinburgh are worth a punt in this sort of game, and at 11/8, are decent value either as a standalone bet, or an acca-booster. A 1-12 margin pays out at 21/10 for the hosts, 11/8 for the Ospreys, while backing respective flyers Dougie Fife or Jeff Hassler to dot down first returns 10/1 and 11/1 in turn. This should be another close affair, but we can see Edinburgh upsetting the odds and recording a narrow four point victory.

Other SuperBru Pro12 Predictions:

Ulster v Dragons: Ulster by 12
Zebre v Cardiff Blues: Blues by 5
Connacht v Treviso: Treviso by 4
Scarlets v Munster: Munster by 8
Leinster v Glasgow Warriors: Leinster by 7

Good luck!
