The Stormers are lining up a bid to secure the services of Argentina scrum-half Nicolas Vergallo, according to reports.
The Pumas international, 30, played for the Kings in last season's Super Rugby competition, but was released from his contract after the franchise was relegated and now is set to move to Cape Town, according to the Cape Times.
Should the move come to fruition, Vergallo will join compatriot and fellow international, second-row Manuel Carizza.
Despite having 33 Argentine caps to his name, Vergallo was overlooked by Santiago Phelan for the recently-concluded Rugby Championship, with Martin Landajo featuring primarily in the number nine jersey.
Currently plying his trade in France with Lyon, Vergallo is a diminutive customer, standing 1.68m and tipping the scales at 79kg. That being said, he is known for his prowess in kicking from hand - an area in which both Stormers scrum-halves (Nic Groom and Louis Schreuder) have struggled to impress.
