Kings scrum-half Shaun Venter has reportedly signed with the Cheetahs, departing his parent outfit the Pumas.
Venter, who was playing for the Kings on loan from the Pumas, impressed during the Kings' first season in Super Rugby and has now looked to ensure he remains at the highest level moving forward.
According to the Volksblad, Venter will turn out for the Pumas during the upcoming Currie Cup before joining the Cheetahs on November 1 on a two-year deal.
Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske expressed his delight at the signing.
"The yardstick for any player to see if he will make it is Super Rugby. (And) Shaun showed this year that he can do it. We are excited about his future at the Cheetahs and believe he can go far in his career," he said.
The 26-year-old will be competing with Sarel Pretorius and Kevin Luiters for the number nine jersey after Piet van Zyl left the union for the Bulls.
